  11. Call-in number is (573) 568-2524.  You may also “call-in” through email anytime from 5:00 pm Tuesday through 8:00 pm Friday by using the call in form on the website or at tkeena@rafterkrodeomo.com .  Please include your name, and event/s in which you will participate.  If you have not participated in a Rafter K 2012 Open Rodeo, you should also include your birth date.  You will receive a confirmation by email reply.
  12. Draw-outs:  A contestant can draw-out by calling or emailing before 8:00 pm Friday.  If a contestant does not draw-out, and is a “no-show”, he/she will have a $5 fine added to their entry fee for each event at the next open rodeo.

Awards & Payback:

  1. Year end awards will be based on points earned at all 7 rodeos.   Points will awarded as follows:

      1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points, 3rd place = 8 points, 4th place = 7 points, 5th place = 6 points,

      6th place = 5 points, 7th place = 4 points, 8th place = 3 points, 9th place = 2 points, 10th place = 1 point.

14.  Awards for events will consist of a buckle for each event.  Awards fee remaining after event buckles are purchased will             be used to purchase an all-around saddle.  In the event that there is not enough awards fee remaining to purchase an all-       around saddle, the all-around winner will receive the remaining awards fee as a cash prize.  If there is awards fee money   remaining after buckles and saddle are purchased, that money will be spent on additional awards.

15.  To qualify for a buckle, contestants must enter at least 4 of the 7 rodeos and must receive a score/time in at least 2 of the 7 rodeos.

  1. Payback will be 60% after the $3 awards fee is deducted.

Specific event information:

  1. Stripping chute will be left open in all roping events.
  2. Barrel racers and pole benders will be allowed an open gate on the way into the arena with a closed gate at the finish.  Any contestant that loses their hat during competition will be assessed a 2 second penalty (stampede string is recommended).
  3. Junior barrels, poles and goats are open to age 13 and under.  However, a contestant may not compete or earn points in both pee wees and juniors.  If a contestant starts the season in one division and then moves into the other, his/her points will not transfer to the new division.
  4. Calf ropers and breakaway ropers will be allowed 2 loops if 2 ropes are carried, but stripping chute will be left open.
  5. Team ropers, calf ropers and break-away ropers will run behind a score line.  An attempt to rope before the score line will result in a 10 second penalty.
  6. Mutton busting, calf riding, steer riding, & bull riding: Contestants may “move up” to the next most difficult rough stock event (calf rider over 10 may move up to steers, etc.).  However, once you move up, you not move back down to the less difficult event.  If a contestant starts the season on calves or steers, and then moves up, his/her points will not transfer to the new event ( for example, a steer rider with 10 points who moves to bull riding will not get to take the 10 points to bull riding for all around competition or buckle).
  7. A 45 second clock will be used on all livestock timed events.  In the event of extremely hot weather that poses a danger to the livestock, clock will be shortened to 30 seconds (arena owner and/or stock contractor will decide if shortened clock is necessary).

Questions about these rules or anything not covered in these rules should be addressed to Louis Keena.
